Head coach David Gray spoke to the media after Hibs' 4-0 Premier Sports Cup win over Peterhead at Easter Road. Here's everything he had to say.

Were you happy enough with that?

"Yeah, job done. The objective was to win this game and top the group and qualify for the knock-out stages. That's exactly what the players have delivered and I'm delighted with that. It was frustrating at times today. I thought we created a lot of chances and were maybe a wee bit wasteful in front of goal. But all in all, we kept going, limited them to very few chances and I thought it was a very professional performance."

Did Queen's Park (won 6-0) keep you honest?

"Credit to them, they've had a very good group stage themselves. We were aware of what was going on there, because we wanted to win the group. But the full focus was on what we were doing on the pitch.  The chances we were creating, we just needed to be that wee bit more clinical and that's something I mentioned at half-time. The intensity and level we wanted to play at was maybe a wee bit low. The second half was much better."

Did you have Lewis Miller down as first scorer?

"Somebody actually mentioned yesterday (Friday) that Lewis would score two goals. I don't know how that came about, but there you go! I definitely didn't think he was going to score straight from a cross, but we'll give him it."

How's Warren O'Hora?

"It was just an impact injury. We'll wait and see how it settles down. It was on an awkward place between the top of his hip. He thinks it's just an impact and hopefully it'll settle down in a day or so."

This competition, competitive?

"I think the Kelty result aside, the performance levels across the whole group stage and exactly what the players have been giving us have been great. The intensity levels were a wee bit lower today, but the nature of the game and slowing it down at times fed into that. But we're really happy with where we are. We're constantly working hard to bring bodies in. We are a little bit light, especially in forward areas and the work will continue to try and do that. All in all, we're pleased with the reaction we've had from day one from the players as a staff. The positivity around the club is great."

How are you with young Rudi Molotnikov?

"He's been excellent. It was great to see him score, he was a wee bit disappointed with the chance he missed in the first half. It's great he's getting into these positions. Training with us every day and imposing himself in training, he's done that for a number of weeks now. It's great to see him imposing himself on games now. He's got great attributes and he's just got to keep his head down and keep working hard on the areas he can improve."

Nathan Moriah-Welsh took his goal well, do you want to see more of that from him?

"It was a great goal, a good move in general. We won the ball back straight away, passed it forward quickly. Dylan Levitt did it right away, Jordan Obita ran the length of the pitch to support and then we are getting bodies in the box. I think Nathan took the goal well and he was excellent in the game. He was someone played with a bit of intensity all day, showing aggression to win the ball back. It's great to see him on the scoresheet as well."

Harry McKirdy missing today?

"Harry just felt ill during the night. He didn't make the squad today and I'll catch up with him after the game and see how he's feeling. Hopefully it's just an overnight thing and he'll be feeling better in the next day or so."

Do you need a forward in before next weekend or is it something you can work around until you get the right player?

"It's something I've said many times about bringing the right ones in. Obviously I'd rather done it three to four weeks ago, we always want to do it as quickly as we can because the earlier you can get working with the players, the better. But we also know it needs to be the right person. Would I like someone in before the weekend to give us strength and depth? One hundred per cent, but it's not as simple as that. There's hard work going on every single day to do that, and that's all we can do at the moment, keep working as hard as we can to bring in the right people to strengthen what we've got. It can't just be a number coming in, it has to be someone who enhances what we've already got."

Will reshaping this team require patience?

"It can be frustrating for everyone involved. I understand that. That's the nature of when a transfer window is open, you'll naturally get ins and outs and it's about making sure the process is right to bring the right people in. That's what we need to trust in. Hopefully we'll get it right in days rather than weeks.

Do you feel ready for next weekend?

"I'm just reflecting on what we've done for the past four-to-five weeks we've been in. The reaction I've had from the players and the positivity around the training ground has been great. The staff coming in has really helped with that as well. So where we are now, the full focus switches to the first league game of the season and that is a completely different challenge to what we've faced, no disrespect to anyone we've played so far. They've obviously got a big European tie on Thursday, we wish them well in that. You want the Scottish teams to do well. We look forward to a different challenge over there."
