Head coach David Gray spoke to the media after Hibs' 2-0 win over St Johnstone at Easter Road - here's everything he had to say.

Is that a bit of a relief to get off the mark?

"Yeah, I think so. I think it's obviously something that internally I've seen a lot of positives that we're working on all the time. There's been progression, especially in the last two games. Losing the goal late on at Kilmarnock, it probably felt a bit more of like a defeat straight after it. But I think then once it does settle and you start to see some of the more positive stuff that's happening in the games, the way we've trained this week, it's great to finally get that three points, and more importantly a clean sheet as well. I think that's something that we take a lot of pride in as well for how hard we've worked."

With the first goal just before half-time, could you feel the confidence changing in the second-half?

"Yes, it was a huge goal. I think it was a huge goal for the players and for just the stadium in general. I think we were a wee bit edgy, a wee bit lethargic in certain situations. We could have showed a little bit more composure on the ball and I think you've seen that when the goal went in, we came out second half, really settled down and the boys showed a lot more quality and composure on the ball, and just looked a bit freer and a bit looser, which was great to see. I think the subs coming on as well really helped us at the right time, and it was a real collective performance. so I'm delighted with it."

How pleasing was it to see the game out as well, especially after what's happened in the last couple of games?

"It is pleasing. I think the manner in which we've done it, as well. It's not as if we just stumbled across the line to try and get that clean sheet. Last week we were losing the goal so late on, losing two late goals in the last two games previously. I'm delighted with the manner in which we've done it. I thought we were really worthy of the clean sheet. Defensively solid, good decision-making from goalkeeper right to the front, pressing from the front. I thought we were really good and it's something that we fully deserve for the amount of effort we put in.  It's not something we're going to stop working hard at. We're continually trying to improve all the time on all aspects of the game.

Boyle and Hoilett seemed to give you a lift, and Boyle's goal was a lovely finish, wasn't it?

"Yes, lovely finish. Just as well he scored because he should have squared it! If he didn't score and he might have been in a bit of bother. I've said a lot in the last few weeks about the squad getting stronger, getting fitter and the break coming at a good time for us. Allowing to get people up to speed, having that competition for places. I said to the players before the game, my job now becomes difficult, to pick an eleven if everybody's fully fit and firing. That's a great headache to have from my point of view. But I also said to the players that the team that starts the game never finishes it. so the players that come on need to be ready to go and impact the game in a positive way. It was great to be able to bring boys on that can add that quality. Three or four internationals we brought on in the second half, that made us better at the right time and helped get us over the line.

Hoilett brought some experienced quality, composure and confidence as well didn't he?

"Absolutely. Played at the highest level. I was delighted with everything we've done in the window. but I think everything we've talked about when we signed Junior Hoylet was about not just his performances on the pitch but how he is around the building. Everything I've seen is exactly what he's delivered and I think you've seen that when he comes on the pitch today. You just touched on the composure he shows on the ball, his decision making. But he also affects people round about him by showing that calmness on the ball. I think the more we can get players like that on the pitch and performing at the level they are,  we'll really benefit from it.

There's a bit of a perception among supporters that Martin Boyle has lost a bit of his sharpness before. Does it feel like he's getting back to it?

"Listen, Boyle is someone who everyone's seen. he's been playing with that cast on his hand. He's got a fracture in his hand. It has probably affected him a little bit but credit to him. he's always put his hand up to say 'I'm available, I want to keep pushing on' - against recommendations at times that he maybe needs to get something done with his hand. He loves playing for this football club, he gives everything absolutely all the time and I think you've seen today when he came on how effective he can be and even his goal involvements this season."
