Hibs midfielder Dylan Tait is heading out on loan again after his season-long arrangement with Hamilton Accies was curtailed last week.
The 22-year-old is joining Accies' League One rivals Falkirk until the end of the season. The Bairns are managed by John McGlynn who brought Tait through at Raith Rovers and currently sit nine points clear of Accies at the top of the table as they chase a return to the Championship following a five-year absence.
Tait, who moved to Easter Road from Stark's Park during the Jack Ross era, has played just once for his parent club as a substitute in a League Cup group match and has spent time on loan back at Raith as well as completing temporary stints with Kilmarnock, Arbroath, and Accies. He played 25 times for John Rankin's side, scoring once and registering three assists, but his stay at the ZLX Stadium was cut short last week following an oddly-worded message published on social media on Friday January 19.
A tweet from @theacciesfc account, set up in August 2023 and which styles itself as 'the official home of Hamilton Academical', appeared to confirm that Tait's time at the club was over:
*** DYLAN TAIT LOAN ***

Following meetings between our Manager, our Director of Football & Club Owner Seref Zengin, the Club can announce that our loan player from Hibernian Football Club, Dylan Tait, will no longer feature for the Club.

There was nothing about the termination of the loan deal communicated from the @acciesfc account, which was established in July 2011 and up until August was the sole source of official club information on the platform.
It's understood that Falkirk's interest in Tait came before the Twitter message, with McGlynn keen to link up with the player once more.
“We got Dylan playing really well a few years back, and we feel that he is a player that can really make a difference. We’re delighted to get him to the club, he will help us in the central midfield area of the pitch, where we feel we have needed a different type of player," he told Falkirk's website.
“He’s a good technical and progressive player, he’s one who will make passes and open up defences with his great passing range, and he is very, very comfortable on the ball. He understands the way we play and understands the game. We’re certainly looking forward to working with him again."
