Hibernian starlet Kanayo Megwa has re-joined Airdrieonians on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-old had returned to Hibs last month with Lewis Miller and Chris Cadden unavailable.

Megwa made his first-team debut for Hibs against Rangers and then featured against Kilmarnock and St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership.

However, he will now return to Airdrie - where he won two club player of the month awards - for the rest of the season to seek further game time.

Hibs boss Nick Montgomery commented: “Kanayo did really well for us when he returned in January and showed he can fight, compete, and step up to the occasion at this level when required.

“With Lewis Miller returning from international duty and Chris Cadden coming back from injury, it was an opportunity for Kanayo to go back out on loan to continue his development and to get more regular gametime than what would be potentially on offer here.

"After discussing this with Kanayo he was keen to go and play regular games and use the experience he gained here to continue to improve his game.

“Kanayo thrived during the first half of the season at Airdrieonians, and we look forward to following his progress between now and when he returns in the summer.”
