Hibs have confirmed the appointment of three new directors to the club's board, including Bournemouth owner Bill Foley.
The US billionaire's Black Knight Football Club (BKFC) group acquired 25% of Hibs shares last month and following confirmation of the partnership, he will serve as a director on the board along with one of his Black Knight cohorts, Ryan Caswell.
Leslie Robb, who played the role of kingmaker as Foley's proposal was ratified at the club's AGM, joins as a non-executive director.
Foley has extensive experience of running sports franchises, large enterprises, and publicly traded companies and is the founder and general partner of BKFC, which is the operator of his football club network. He led on BKFC's acquisition of Bournemouth and their 40% acquisition of Lorient, as well as securing a licence for an A-League expansion team based in Auckland, New Zealand.
Foley also owns and operates the likes of the Las Vegas Golden Knights ice hockey team in the NHL, the Henderson Silver Knights in the American Hockey League, and the Vegas Knight Hawks, an indoor American football team. Outside of sporting interests, the Texan-born entrepreneur holds leadership positions at several large publicly traded companies.
Ryan Caswell, director
Ryan Caswell was involved with the creation and day-to-day running of BKFC, sitting on the boards of both the holding company and Lorient. He was instrumental in BKFC's acquisition of Bournemouth, helped lead on the acquisition of shares in the Ligue 1 club, and played a significant role in obtaining the A-League expansion franchise in Auckland.
Caswell also serves as president of Cannae Holdings, a publicly-listed company on the New York Stock Exchange, and looks after deal execution and portfolio company management. He has also held positions on a number of boards of Cannae investments including Amerilife, CorroHealth, System1, and TripleTree Holdings. Before his role with Cannae, Caswell spent more than a decade as a managing director with the investment bank at BofA Securities, Inc.
Leslie Robb, non-executive director
The third new face is Leslie Robb, who has joined as a non-executive director. A lifelong Hibs fan, Robb became a shareholder in the club in 2015 and has spent the bulk of his professional life immersed in asset management. He held senior investment positions at Scottish Widows and Murray Johnstone before taking a role as partner at Baillie Gifford & Co in 2002.
Since retiring, he has fulfilled a number of non-executive positions and sits on the Hibernian Women's Advisory Board.
In terms of the make-up of the club's board, Foley and Caswell join Kit Gordon and Ian Gordon as directors while Robb joins Robert Begbie, Scott Fraser, Gillian Hutchison, and Archie Paton as non-executive directors. Malcolm McPherson remains as non-executive chairman with Kathrin Hamilton serving as non-executive vice chairman and Ben Kensell as chief executive.
