Hibernian head of football operations Derek White has left the club after 18 months in post with the Scottish Premiership side.

White joined from Livingston, where he had fulfilled several roles including supporter liaison officer and media officer before landing the club secretary position in January 2020. Prior to that he had been a football coach with the West Lothian Youth Foundation and had worked with the Scottish FA as a liaison officer.

He replaced Finlay Stark, who left Hibs to join Brighton after seven-and-a-half years with the capital club during which he had served as academy administration and operations manager, football operations manager, and lastly head of football operations.

Joining the Easter Road side in May 2022 as head of football operations White led on matchday operations, training ground facility management, contract and transfer management including the drafting of contracts and transfer agreements; SPFL and Scottish FA compliance, UEFA and club licensing, pre-season training camp planning, and player care. Latterly, he was responsible for kit logistics and general management of the women's team.

Speaking to a club publication earlier this year he said: "At Hibs, we have so many good people who really want to do well for the club. Coming in each day doesn't feel like work because you know when you go into the Hibs Training Centre there will be a buzz about the place. The environment and culture set at the club - from the top down - is one of the best that I have worked in or will likely ever work in."

The Hibs Observer understands Philip Kidd, who previously held the position of first-team football operations co-ordinator, has taken on the role of head of football operations.

Kidd has been with Hibs since August 2015, serving initially as head of children's academy phase coaching and lead academy coach, before taking up the football operations post in July 2021. Prior to joining Hibs he headed up Elite Soccer Coaching and worked with the Scottish FA and City of Edinburgh Council. He also had stints as a youth coach with Dunfermline, Livingston, and Cowdenbeath.
