Chris Cadden was delighted to see Hibs come out and back David Gray - and says every player in the dressing room must now ask if they're doing enough for the manager.

A club statement following the 2-1 defeat to St Mirren declared the head coach would get more time to try and haul Hibs off the bottom of the Scottish Premiership, while stressing that 'all departments are under pressure'. Cadden is adamant that Gray's struggling squad are fighting for him, and part of that requires introspection over what their own contribution. He believes a focus on mentality is key to picking up a first victory since September away at Dundee on Saturday.

"We know the results haven't been good enough and the performance hasn't been good enough, we know that," said Cadden. "You are looking at yourself first and foremost - have you done enough on the pitch? That's the main thing. But I think in terms of tomorrow, it's about mentality at the end of the day, that's what it's all about. You can look at formations, but it doesn't really matter unless the mentality is right, so that's what our focus is to be on. It's going to be tough, as we know, but from a player's point of view, mentality has got to be spot on.

"I can't speak for everyone else, but me personally, I was delighted the club backed the manager because we're all behind him. I've known the gaffer for a while now and he's been brilliant .As a manager he's been amazing for me. But we know that results and performances need to change, so if you've got to do it for anyone, go do it for the gaffer as well.

"We're all right behind him .So that gives an extra motivation, great, but it's getting behind them, which we all are. We're going to try and get three points for him, for Hibs. When you're losing games of football, there's always a feeling of letting people down - the gaffer, the fans, and you can go even deeper even with your family. It's not a nice place to be, but we've got to keep going, keep the mentality right and get the win tomorrow."
