Strictly Come Dancing fans have said they were “shocked” and “did not see one of those [contestants] coming at all” in the bottom two, as week five results have been leaked online.
Newsquest will not reveal the details of which two celebrities found themselves in the bottom two since these results have not been verified (and to not spoil tonight's programme).
During last night’s live show (October 19) on BBC One, the leaderboard was topped by EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick and Olympian Montell Douglas with both on 39 points.
Borthwick and professional partner Michelle Tsiakkas opted for a matador-inspired paso doble routine to flamenco song Malaguena by Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona, which judge Anton Du Beke praised saying “you will never dance a better dance than that, you were brilliant”.
Douglas and Johannes Radebe’s carnival-inspired couple’s choice, which means they do not have to dance a set routine, to Skeleton Move by KG and Zanda Zakuza was praised by Mosti Mabuse who said they “exploded with energy” on the dancefloor.
There were also plenty of Strictly “firsts” on Saturday night as JB Gill and Amy Dowden’s jive routine to Outkast’s Hey Ya! marked the first time the pair have opened the show.
Elsewhere, Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal made Strictly history by performing to an Oasis song.
Strictly fans ‘shocked’ over bottom 2 celebrity in week 5
As the results show for Strictly is filmed on the same night as the rest of the show, but broadcast a day later, it allows people who are in the crowd for filming to know who is eliminated ahead of time.
Due to this, the results were leaked on social media late last night and those who found out “didn’t expect” one celebrity to be in the bottom two.
“Blimey. Did not see one of those coming at all,” wrote this person.
Another said: “Good decision but did NOT expect the surviving couple to be in the bottom.”
A Strictly viewer also tweeted they were “shocked at the person in the bottom two who survived”.
This account commented: “Definitely didn’t expect one of those to be in the bottom 2.”
One simply put: “Wow."
The 2024 Professional Dancers
Someone else posted: “I expected one of these but not the other.”
Meanwhile, it seems some fans “agreed” with the results, as this person said: “Right decision I’m afraid, shame tho!”

“I agree with that result the right person eliminated,” another shared.
